Jack D'Ambrosi Sr., 85, Of Paramus

PARAMUS, N.J. -- Jack D'Ambrosi Sr., of Paramus, died Thursday, Nov. 24. He was 85.

Before retiring, he worked as the director of general services for Bergen County. He wore many hats throughout his life. He was chief of staff to state Sen. Lou Kosco, sheet metal foreman at Bogan Communications in Paramus and owner of the Yorkshire Inn in Oradell. He was a member and president of the Republican Club, chairman of the Zoning Board of Adjustments, commissioner of the Paramus Pool, past grand knight and charter member of the Knights of Columbus 2842 and a member of UNICO, the Rotary Club and the recreation commissioner. He also belonged to the VFW Post 6699 and the Catholic War Veterans: Fr. Washington Post #1710, all in Paramus. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church. He also was a U.S. Army veteran who served our country proudly during the Korean War.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean (nee Manzo). 

He is survived by his wife, Tina; children, Denise Bonoli and her husband Steven, Dean D'Ambrosi and his wife Dina and the late Jack L. D'Ambrosi Jr and his wife Karen; step-daughter, Kristina Smith; and grandchildren, Jacqueline, Tess, Emily, Jack and Nicholas.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 S. Farview Ave., Paramus. A funeral service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, 234 N. Farview Ave., Paramus. Interment will e in George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. 

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Jack L. D'Ambrosi Jr. Memorial Fund, 2169 Weatherstone Court, Reston, VA 20164.
